Gymnastics team wins hearts

heart of IllDecatur, Illinois – Gem City’s gymnastics team rocked it on February 8 & 9 at the Heart of Illinois meet. The Level 3 team took first place!

There were many impressive individual performances. Ava Winking (level 3) took first with a 38.05 in her level and age group. Haley Woodyard (level 3) placed second with a 37.275 in her level and age group. Molly Broughton (level 3) also posted high scores with a 36.9.

The Level 6 team also found success with a third place finish. This was especially impressive considering only three Level 6 athletes competed, meaning every score on each event counted toward the total team score. This leaves little room for anything other than solid performances.
