The 2016-2017 seasons of gymnastics, tumbling, and cheer have already been exciting. We know there’s a lot to balance between school, the gym, and finding time to be kids, so we’re proud to be a part of their lives.

We’re heading quickly toward the holiday season! At Gem City, that means lots of meets and planning for the spring session!
Gem City is excited to offer skill clinics this October and November! Skill clinics are one-hour group sessions focusing on a specific skill or set of skills for just $15 for each clinic.
Clinics are a great setting for learning because of the singular focus on technique and the variety of coaching voices that get to be heard. It’s not uncommon for athletes to pick up skills they’ve been working on just because a new face is working with them.
There’s so much happening this month. There are skill clinics and a Pizza Fun Night with costume contest and more!
Gem City’s October Pizza Fun Night will be on Friday, October 28 from 6:30-9:30 ($12 members, $15 non-members).
It’s one of our favorites for one simple reason— costumes! We’re always wowed by the creativity. Don’t forget to bring a change of clothes if your costume is difficult to play in.
We can’t tell you how often people say to us: “I wish I would have done gymnastics as a kid.” Well, we’re here to tell you that an active lifestyle shouldn’t stop because you’re not a child anymore. (Just check out the video below!)
The physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, coordination, and balance needed for gymnastics is just as important in adulthood as it is in childhood. Because of this Gem City offers adult gymnastics every Wednesday from 7:15-8:30. It’s $9 per time and there’s no commitment.
Gem City offers adult gymnastics as an hour and fifteen minute open gym. Participant experience levels range from absolutely none to former competitive gymnasts and tumblers. Though most focus on tumbling skills, athletes are free to work on any gymnastics and tumbling events.
Each open gym begins with a skills based warmup then participants are free to work toward their individual goals.
The start of the school year is one of our favorite times of the year at Gem City — yellow school buses, the smell of crayons, fresh notebooks waiting to be filled.
There’s so much excitement around the new school year, so we wanted to add to it and help keep Gem City’s little athletes motivated with our new Good Grades Quarterly Drawing.
So much is happening! → Back to School Pizza Fun Night, National Gymnastics Day, 10 year anniversary t-shirts, and more!
We might still be sweating out the summer, but it’s time to think about Fall classes!
We can’t believe Gem City has been in business for 10 years!
To celebrate, we are counting on you to bring on all the good vibes and all the feels! We want to hear all about the good times you had at Gem City. Maybe it’s the laughs or a big skill you learned. Heck, it might be a small skill you learned or an embarrassing moment.
I started working at Quincy Gymnastics in 2003. Little did I know a part-time job while in high school would lead to owning a business, getting married, and end up being part of a “gym” family!
I have enjoyed the past ten years as co-owner, coworker, coach, secretary, substitute coach, friend, boss, “chief”, trash picker-upper, accountant, and whatever other hat I might wear on a weekly basis!
