Maggie Schutte, current senior at Quincy Senior High School (QHS), has been a long-time fixture on Gem City’s tumbling team. She’s been a leader through her consistent hard work and willingness to help other athletes. In April, Schutte was awarded the USTA Southern Illinois graduating Senior Scholarship Award at the Southern Illinois State Championship and made the All-Star National Team.
Eight Gem City athletes came home as State Champions and 36 of our competitors qualified to advance to Nationals at the 2018 United States Trampoline & Tumbling Association (USTA) Southern Illinois State Championship in Pana, IL on April 22! A total of 39 Gem City tumblers competed at the State meet.

Co-owner and head tumbling team coach, Zeke Cernea, was recognized for excellence in coaching with a nomination for the United States Trampoline & Tumbling Association’s (USTA) Coach of the Year! Gem City is incredibly proud of Zeke’s coaching and leadership.
Gem City welcomes all new and returning athletes to a new class session and 2018! The 2018 Spring Session starts today and we’re excited to see all the new and familiar faces. This is a great time to reflect on the last year and on what you or your child learned and accomplished in gym. It’s also the perfect time for goal-setting for the upcoming year!

We had so much fun celebrating National Gymnastics Day last week at Gem City! Whether it’s teaching a cartwheel or a double-back dismount off of bars, our coaches love this sport and are thankful you let them teach you all about gymnastics and tumbling.
The Gem City Tumbling Team headed north with 23 athletes to Madison, Wisconsin, for the USTA National Championships.
This year 23 members qualified and are advancing to USTA Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin, from June 20-24.
We recently drew the winner for Gem City’s third Good Grades Quarterly Drawing for the 2016-2017 school year. The good grades keep rolling in and we’re impressed! Keep up the good work, athletes!
