Gem City’s Level 3 teams rocked it at State this past weekend in Bloomington-Normal! Our Senior Team brought home 6th Place in the state, our Child Team earned 9th Place Team in the state, and our Level 3 Team brought home 12th Place Overall in the state of Illinois. With 63 Teams competing this weekend, we’re HAPPY to be in the TOP 19% of the State!
Level 4 and Level 5 gymnastics teams had a great meet season with nine athletes in Level 4 and five athletes in Level 5 advancing for State Competitions. Both State meets will take place from March 22-24 in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
Gem City competed at the St. Louis Classic Invitational as the last meet of the regular season. It was the largest meet in Missouri this year with over 1,700 athletes! State meets start next weekend! Congrats to our Level 3 team as they earned 3rd Place Team Award! We had MANY season best scores for our girls and lots of Top Ten finishes.
Gem City’s Level 9 gymnasts will head to the USAG State Championship in St. Charles, Illinois, on March 15-17. Haley Woodyard, 13 of Quincy, and Ava Winking, 13 of Quincy, will represent Gem City.
These two athletes practice more than 17 hours each week – after school and on the weekends. This does not include the private lessons they also take part in aside from their group practices!
Gem City’s Level 3 gymnastics team has 23 athletes advancing to USAG‘s State Championship. They are coached by Jacob Huff, Hope Huff, Kiki Backoff, Ashley Schralla, and Damon Wilson.

Gem City’s Gymnastics Team traveled to Collinsville, Illinois, for the Gateway Challenge competition. The Level 3 athletes earned a 2nd place Team Award. 🏆
Our gymnastics team competed this weekend at the King Arthur meet in this FREEZING WEATHER. Our Level 3 Team earned the 3rd Place Team Award! Plus, we had 18 girls place in the top 10 for All-Around!
