There’s been much enthusiasm for Gem City’s Adaptive Gymnastics class for athletes with special needs. Based on feedback, we are now making it only a weekly commitment for $12 each class. No long-term commitment or membership fee!
Ava Winking, a soon-to-be freshman at Quincy High School, is the winner of our Good Grades Quarterly Drawing for the fourth quarter of the 2018-2019 school year! We’re always excited by the opportunity to share in our athlete’s success at school with our Good Grades Quarterly Drawing.
Bree Barnes will graduate from Quincy Senior High School this year. She is the daughter of Brian and Cinda Barnes and a part of the Gem City family for almost 12 years. She was on gymnastics team, tumbling team, and just this past year on the Gem City All-Star squad. In 2012, Bree qualified and competed in the AAU Junior Olympics.
Gem City Athletes competed at the 2019 Level 7 and Level 8 Region 5 Championships in Bourbonnais, Illinois, to close out the competitive season. We are so thankful and proud of our athletes hard work this season.
Riley Brown, Level 8 gymnast, competes at the 2019 Region 5 Championships in Bourbonnais, Illinois, this weekend. She will represent both Gem City gymnast and the DREAM TEAM for the State of Illinois!
Ava Winking earned her best All-Around score of the season at the USAG 2019 Region 5 Championships in Battle Creek, Michigan, this weekend. She finished in 13th place in the All-Around.
Gem City athletes Riley Brown (Level 8), Ayanna Douglas (Level 7), and Anna Venvertloh (Level 7) competed at the USAG State Championship in Dekalb, Illinois.
Brown came a Bars State Champion with a score of 9.675. Douglas earned 2nd Place on Vault, and both Douglas and Venvertloh earned their season high score for All-Around. All three athletes solidified spots to move forward to Regional on April 26-28 in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
We are so proud of all 14 of our athletes that advanced to this weekend’s Level 4 and 5 State Championships in Bourbonnais, Illinois. Because of their hard work, Gem City athletes have delivered great performances to a talented competitive field.
Three of Gem City’s gymnasts will head to the USAG State Championship in Dekalb, Illinois, on March 29-31. These athletes qualified by earning an all-around score of 34.50 or more for Level 7 and 33.00 or more for Level 8 throughout the regular season.
Gem City’s Level 9 gymnasts, Ava Winking and Haley Woodyard, competed at USAG Illinois Gymnastics State Championships. Their solid performances qualified them to advance to the 2019 Region 5 Championships in Battle Creek, Michigan, on April 11-14.
