The American Gateway in St. Charles, Missouri, was the first EVER competition Gem City’s Youth All Star Cheer Squad. 🤸♂️ They competed a two-day competition this past weekend and impressed us.
It’s been a very weird competitive season for Gem City’s teams (our season started June 2020), but we still took a moment to document and celebrate these hard-working, student athletes with team photos.
We’re so excited to get Gem City up and running again! Please help us make this a safe reopening for our gym community. Check out the new procedures we will be implementing.
Ashley Leonard, 18 from Quincy, has been a Gem City athlete for over 12 years and was recently honored as the Southern Illinois State Athlete of the Year by the United States Trampoline & Tumbling Association (USTA)!
It’s a joy to work with a kid all the way up to the point of graduating from high school. Unfortunately, our graduating seniors had a great season cut short this year but we cherish the opportunity to learn and grow with them all these years. 🎓 We will miss you all being in the gym each week. Good luck next year, and don’t forget to come back and visit! 😥
Gem City earned first place in Des Moines at the Iowa Showdown. The strong performance means the all star cheer squad’s Nationals bid is now a GOLD BID! 🤩 It was also their highest score of the season with a 95.2333.
The All Star Cheer Squad did Gem City proud with a 2nd place finish at the Midwest Championships in Peoria, Illinois. This was their second competition of the season
Giving back to your community is important! We held a Giving Tuesday donation challenge with our team athletes and coaches. We encouraged our athletes to donate $1 to $5 to a cause they cared about and Gem City matched each dollar up to $5 for each athlete’s donation.
Gem City’s All Star Cheer Squad had a good reason to be excited for their 8:30 am practice this Saturday—a bid to nationals was extended to them following a strong performance at their first competition of the season in Kansas City!
