This past weekend, our incredible athletes brought their passion, determination, and skill to the 2025 USAG Illinois State Championships in Bourbonnais! We couldn’t be prouder of our 11 Level 4 and Level 5 gymnasts who represented Gem City with outstanding performances.
To all our gymnasts who competed: You’ve made your Gem City family incredibly proud! Your dedication inspires everyone in our gym community, from our youngest beginners to our most experienced athletes.
The spotlight shone especially bright on our Senior Level 5 Team, who secured an impressive 7th place finish out of 28 teams from across Illinois! Adding to the excitement, Josey Bockhold delivered a standout performance to earn THIRD PLACE All-Around in Level 5 competition!
These achievements didn’t happen overnight. Each athlete has dedicated themselves to 4-5 weekly practice sessions throughout the year, balancing their rigorous training with school responsibilities and personal lives. Their commitment to excellence was on full display as we witnessed numerous personal bests and top-ten finishes throughout the competition.
The journey from qualification to State Championships represents months of perseverance, overcoming challenges, and constantly pushing limits.
