December 2024 Newsletter
The holidays are fast approaching and so is the end of our session! Don’t forget to enroll in spring session classes before Christmas break!
Here are three things to know:
1) Enrollment is happening now. You can explore our spring schedule here.
2) Let’s get festive! Gem City will hold a Christmas Theme Week from December 16-21. Come dressed up and ready to be festive for the holidays.
3) Competitive seasons start off strong! Check out the results:
- Tumblers Kick Off Season in East Moline
- Gem City All Star Squads Both Earn First Place at First Meet of Season
An online account is needed for every family at the gym. Follow the directions below (or read all details here about the new system.) This account must be active in order to enroll in classes for the next session, so please be sure to set it up before you call or stop in the office.
- For existing students: Be sure to create you account in the Parent Portal then call or stop in the office.
- For new students: All new athletes to Gem City must fill out our registration then call or stop in the office.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask a coach or stop in our Pro Shop.

P.S. Stop in for your Christmas shopping! We have restocked our Pro Shop with more sizes and colors of youth and adult t-shirts, hoodies, and crewneck sweatshirts! We carry sizes from 2T to adult 2XL. We also received a new shipment of Destira Leotards earlier last month, so new styles await!

Bring a Friend for Free to Pizza Fun Night: Friday, December 6
Gem City’s next Pizza Fun Night is Friday, December 6 from 630-930pm, ages 5-12. $25 for members & $30 for nonmembers. And, we’re doing something new— Gem City members can be bring a friend, who is not in a class or on a team, for free! (Please note that all kids need a signed waiver.)

✅ New Parent portal System Brings Easier Access
We are excited to introduce a new Parent Portal system that allows you to manage your account information more easily. It enables you to view your family account and pay online (if you choose to). Plus, paper forms are now a thing of the past.

We will be closed for classes from Sunday, December 22 – Sunday, January 5. We will NOT be hosting our Preschool Playtime over break.

Preschool Playtime
Our Preschool Playtime continues through the Fall 2024 session— uninterrupted until Christmas break. Join us every Wednesday morning 9:30-11:30am, ages six and under, only $9 per child.
🎄 We will NOT be hosting our Preschool Playtime over Christmas break. We will start Preschool Playtime back up on Wednesday, January 8.

Gem City’s Toys for Tots Collection Ends 12/13
We are excited to be a Toys for Tots drop-off location! We have a bin in our lobby – help us fill it! Last year, Toys for Tots distributed over 27,000 toys, stocking stuffers, and books to 5,336 children within West Central Illinois. They anticipate even more this year!
The next drawing is January 8 for the second quarter of the school
Pop into the Pro Shop to enter! We understand some schools are now using trimesters— we will still take any and all entries. Simply bring in your grade card whenever you receive it and we will enter it into the next drawing we hold. The winner gets to choose anything from our Pro Shop for free.
