We are well into the fall session, which means two things: 1) the start of competition season (Good luck, tumbling team and all-star cheer squads!) and 2) we are starting to gear up for the spring session.
A few things to keep in mind as you plan for spring session classes:
In-class evaluations are the week of November 18
- Coaches will provide each child a recommendation for what class they should enroll in the next session.

Enrollment starts on Monday, December 2
An online account is needed for every family at the gym. Follow the directions below (or read all details here about the new system.) This account must be active in order to enroll in classes for the next session, so please be sure to set it up before you call or stop in the office.
- For existing students: Be sure to create you account in the Parent Portal then call or stop in the office.
- For new students: All new athletes to Gem City must fill out our registration then call or stop in the office.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask a coach or stop in our Pro Shop.

Our water fountain will be unavailable from now until Monday, November 11. Please help your little ones stay hydrated by bringing a water bottle during this time. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation!

We’re Open: Election Day and Veterans Day
We will be open on November 5 (Election Day) and November 11 (Veterans Day).
Scheduled Break: Thanksgiving
We will be closed for classes from Wednesday, November 27 to Sunday, December 1. We will be open for our Preschool Playtime and Open Gym during this time.
Dates to Know

First Good Grades Drawing is November 6
We continue to do our drawings quarterly, but we understand some schools are now using trimesters— we will still take any and all entries! Simply bring in your grade card whenever you receive it and we will enter it into the next drawing we hold. The winner gets to choose anything from our Pro Shop for free!
Preschool Playtime
Our Preschool Playtime continues through the Fall 2024 session— uninterrupted until Christmas break. Join us every Wednesday morning 9:30-11:30am, ages six and under, only $9 per child.
🦃 We will be having PP over Thanksgiving break.
New Private Lesson Policy
All private lessons must be paid for the day of the the lesson or a full month in advance. Past due balances will no longer be allowed. Payment can be made in the Pro Shop, given to your coach, or placed in a check/cash in the brown box outside the office door. We can also take card payment over the phone if needed.
✅ New Parent portal System Brings Easier Access
We are excited to introduce a new Parent Portal system that allows you to manage your account information more easily. It enables you to view your family account and pay online (if you choose to). Plus, paper forms are now a thing of the past.

Gobble, Gobble Daytime Open Gym: November 27
The open gym will be from 12-2pm! The deadline for sign up is November 26. Ages 5-12. $18 for members, $21 for nonmembers.
Bring a Friend for Free to Pizza Fun Night: Friday, December 6
Gem City’s next Pizza Fun Night is Friday, December 6 from 630-930pm, ages 5-12. $25 for members & $30 for nonmembers. And, we’re doing something new— Gem City members can be bring a friend, who is not in a class or on a team, for free! (Please note that all kids need a signed waiver.)
Gem City’s Toys for Tots Drive has Launched
We are excited to be a Toys for Tots drop-off location! We have a bin in our lobby – help us fill it! Last year, Toys for Tots distributed over 27,000 toys, stocking stuffers, and books to 5,336 children within West Central Illinois. They anticipate even more this year!
For the month of November, bring in any new, unopened toy and gain FREE admission to our Preschool Playtime! There are four Wednesdays to take advantage of this opportunity.
Coming Soon: Raffle to Win a Leotard a Year for Life
Beginning November 18 and running for one month, you can buy a raffle ticket in Gem City’s Pro Shop for a chance to WIN A LEOTARD A YEAR FOR LIFE (or rather, your gymnastics life).
The winner will get a FREE leotard once a year for as long as they are an active athlete at GCGT! Size and style are up to you! We will draw the winner on Wednesday, December 18 at 6 pm. We will NOT announce the winner on social media until AFTER the holidays. We know that there might be some enter this drawing and use this as a Christmas gift! We will keep it a surprise until after the first of the year, just in case!
Tickets will be $1/1, $5/6, $10/15, or $20/50. Retail offer of this raffle is $45-$450 – it all depends on the leotard you choose and how many years you remain an athlete at GCGT!
