Lila Winking earned the title of Level 7 State Floor Champion in Northbrook! Both Lila Winking and Olivia Slater will advance to Regionals. Three of Gem City’s Level 7 athletes qualified and competed at the USAG Illinois State Championships on April 1-3, 2022.
Level 7 athletes had to have an all-around score of 34.50 or higher at a qualifying invitational during the regular season. Gem City attended six invitationals this season throughout Illinois and Missouri. Athletes earning a 35.00 all around score at State will then to advance to Regionals on April 29-May 1 in Louisville, KY.
Gem City’s Level 7 athletes practice up to six times a week and then usually attend one-on-one lessons throughout the season to perfect certain skills.
