Levels 3 & 9 Gymnasts to Compete at State in Dekalb
Congratulations to our Level 3 & Level 9 athletes who qualified and are advancing to the USAG Illinois State Championships. The meet will be hosted by Energym Gymnastics on March 25 – 27, 2022 in Dekalb, Illinois.
Advancing to State competitions is not easy. Our gymnasts attended six invitationals this season throughout Illinois and Missouri. Each Level 3 athlete had to earn a 34.00 all-around score at a qualifying invitational earlier in the season. The qualifying score for Level 9 is a 32.00 all-around score. If the level 9 girls earn a 34.00 at State, they will advance on to Regionals April 21-24 in McCook, Illinois.
Our Level 3 athletes practice up to three times a week at practice and then usually attend one-on-one lessons throughout the season to perfect certain skills. Level 9 athletes practice five times a week.
Training in gymnastics often means working through times when you can’t see your progress. We’re proud of the hard work each athlete has put into their own talent and growth during the year.
