We’re already counting the days until summer at Gem City, and that means getting ready for summer classes, state meets, and cheer tryouts for next season’s Gem City squad!
Summer is Coming!
Evaluation Week Begins the Week of April 17
During this Evaluation Week, coaches will test each student during class and will provide a written recommendation for what class your child should attend the following session. If you have questions about the evaluation, please feel free to speak with your child’s coach.
Summer Schedules
Check your mailbox for a printed summer schedule with pricing. They are being mailed directly to you the week before evaluations and will also be updated here on MyGemCity.com.
Summer Registration
Start signing up for summer classes beginning Monday, April 24. Tuition is due upon registration. The Summer session runs from May 30 – August 8.

Easter Egg Hunt, pizza, soda, candy, Fun! Call or stop by the office to register. Members $12, Non-members $15. AGES 4-14 unless parent supervised *Unless parent supervised
Cheer Squad Info Meeting
Thursday, April 13 at 7pm
Those interested in Gem City’s 2017-2018 cheer squad are encouraged to attend our info session. You’ll learn about tryouts, financial commitment, and time commitment of the squad. The meeting is in the gym lobby. Tryouts are May 13. There is a mandatory pre-tryout practice from 830-10 with closed tryouts taking place from 1130-1.

Good Luck to Level 4 and Level 7 gymnastics teams at their State meets in March. 😎
To qualify for the state competition the girls had to attend a minimum of five invitational meet throughout the season, which started in October. They also had to earn an all-around score of 34.0 or more in order to qualify for State.
The athletes competing are: Autumn Speckhart (13 Quincy), Kielyn Ott (10 Canton), Abby Pilkington (11 Fowler), Anna Venvertloh (10 Quincy), Sophia Weis (12 Quincy), Alaina Loman (10 Palmyra), Ayanna Douglas (9 Quincy), Isabella Stupavsky (11 Quincy), and Addison Bruening (14 Quincy).
Skill Clinics
Gem City is holding another round of Skill Clinics for members only. Each clinic is one hour focusing on technique. Register soon! Limited space is available. Each clinic is $15.

Day-time playtime for Quincy’s little ones!
Every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30, $5 Gem City’s Preschool Playtime provides open, unstructured time for kids to come play in the gym. You can come for a half-hour or stay the whole two hours. Each child or small group needs a chaperone.
Members and nonmembers alike can come play. Individuals, daycares, play groups, church groups, etc. are all welcome too! No membership fee or commitment. Find more information here.
